Description
The PIE 535 is a handheld loop calibrator from Practical Instrument Electronics for 4-20 mA and 10-50 mA signal work. It sources and reads current from 0 to 50 mA, simulates two-wire transmitters, and powers transmitters while reading their output. It also reads and sources DC voltage. Instrument technicians use it to check transmitters, controllers, recorders and valve positioners, and its higher internal supply suits older loops that need more voltage than a typical 24 V source.
Key features
- ±0.025% of reading accuracy on current
- Source and read 0.000 to 50.000 mA with percent of span display and bar graph
- Powers two-wire transmitters and simulates transmitters
- Reads 0 to ±30 VDC and sources 0 to 24 VDC
- Auto step and ramp with selectable step size, interval and soak time
- Fuseless protection against accidental connection to 240 V AC/DC
Typical applications
- Calibrating 4-20 mA transmitters
- Checking controllers, recorders and indicators
- Valve positioner testing
- Troubleshooting older 10-50 mA loops
