Description
The Fluke 771 is a measure-only milliamp process clamp meter for checking 4-20 mA signals in control loops. Clamping around a loop wire gives a reading without opening the circuit, so technicians can verify transmitter outputs and analog I/O while the process keeps running. It has a 99.9 mA range for older 10-50 mA systems, a dual display showing mA and percent of span, and a light that helps locate wires in dark enclosures. The clamp detaches on an extension cable.
Key features
- Clamp-on 4-20 mA measurement without breaking the loop
- 0.2% accuracy with 0.01 mA resolution
- Dual display of mA and 0 to 100% of 4-20 mA span
- 99.9 mA range for 10-50 mA legacy systems
- Detachable clamp with extension cable
- Hold function and work light for dark enclosures
Typical applications
- Checking transmitter output signals
- Verifying PLC and DCS analog inputs and outputs
- Routine instrument loop checks during operation
- Troubleshooting older 10-50 mA control systems
