Description
The Fluke 772 is a milliamp process clamp meter for instrumentation work on 4 to 20 mA control loops. Instead of opening the circuit to insert a meter, the technician clamps the jaw around the signal wire and reads the loop current directly. The 772 can also measure in-circuit while supplying 24 V loop power, and it sources 4 to 20 mA to test control system inputs and I/P converters. Process control technicians in oil and gas, chemical, water and power plants use it for fast loop troubleshooting.
Key features
- 0.2% accuracy with 0.01 mA resolution and sensitivity
- Clamp-on measurement of 4 to 20 mA signals without breaking the loop
- 99.9 mA range for 10 to 50 mA signals in older control systems
- In-circuit mA measurement with 24 V loop power for powering and testing transmitters
- Sources 4 to 20 mA with linear ramp or 25% step output for I/O and I/P testing
- Detachable clamp with extension cable, dual backlit display and Measurement Spotlight
Typical applications
- Checking PLC and DCS analog input and output signals
- Troubleshooting 4 to 20 mA transmitters in the field
- Testing I/P converters and valve positioners
- Maintenance on legacy 10 to 50 mA control loops
