Description
The Dwyer SX1-A belongs to the Series SX1 ultrasonic flowmeter detectors, the sensing half of a Dwyer clamp-on flow measurement system. Two sensors are mounted on the outside of the pipe, and each sends an ultrasonic pulse to the other. The difference between the upstream and downstream travel times is used by a Series UXF1 or UXF3 converter to calculate flow velocity. The -A suffix identifies the specific detector version within the series. Installers use the SX1 when building or repairing a Dwyer ultrasonic metering point.
Key features
- Two-sensor set for transit-time flow measurement
- Mounts on the pipe exterior with no wetted parts
- Designed to pair with Dwyer Series UXF1 and UXF3 converters
- No pressure loss and no pipe cutting required
Typical applications
- New Dwyer UXF1 or UXF3 flowmeter installations
- Replacement detectors for existing Dwyer systems
- Clean liquid flow measurement in water and process lines
