Description
The Fluke 116 is a digital multimeter built around the needs of HVAC technicians. Alongside voltage, resistance, continuity, frequency and capacitance, it adds a temperature input with an included bead probe and a microamp range for checking flame rectification sensors on furnaces and boilers. A low-impedance (LoZ) mode helps rule out ghost voltage, and a bright backlight helps in attics and mechanical rooms. Its compact shape allows one-handed use while working on equipment.
Key features
- Built-in thermometer with included 80BK temperature probe
- Microamp range for flame sensor testing
- LoZ low input impedance mode to reduce ghost voltage readings
- Capacitance measurement for motor run and start capacitors
- Min/Max/Average recording
- White LED backlight
Typical applications
- Furnace and boiler flame sensor diagnostics
- Supply and return air temperature checks
- Capacitor testing on compressors and fan motors
- General HVAC electrical troubleshooting
