Description
The T860-42-NIST kit includes the 42° wide-angle lens. The NIST suffix adds a NIST-traceable calibration certificate. The FLIR T860 is a handheld thermal imaging camera for inspecting electrical and mechanical assets. Its 640 x 480 infrared detector captures detailed temperature images, and a 180 degree rotating lens platform lets the user aim the camera while keeping the screen in view. A color viewfinder helps in bright sunlight, and on-board inspection routes guide repeat surveys. Maintenance teams use it for substations, switchgear, motors and process equipment, with interchangeable lenses for close or distant targets.

Boby William –
Great investment for our plant’s preventive maintenance program. We use the T860-42-NIST for weekly inspections of switchgear, transformers, and motor control centers. The 42 degree lens is ideal for scanning wide areas quickly, and the image quality is outstanding – we can spot a hot connection from a safe distance before it becomes a real problem. The NIST calibration certificate was a plus since our safety department requires traceable calibration. Thermal sensitivity is excellent, and the MSX mode really helps blend visible detail with thermal data. Battery life is solid for a full day of field work. Highly recommended for anyone doing serious thermography work.
