Description
The Fluke 1630-2 FC is a clamp-on earth ground tester, not an HVAC meter. It checks ground loop resistance and AC leakage current simply by clamping around a ground rod or conductor, so there is no need to disconnect the electrode or drive auxiliary stakes. A rugged jaw keeps its alignment for consistent readings in daily field use. Results can be sent to the Fluke Connect app to store readings with location data and share them. Electricians, utility crews and facility maintenance teams use it for grounding system audits.
Key features
- Stakeless ground loop resistance testing by clamping only
- AC leakage current measurement with selectable band-pass filter to reject noise
- Logging at preset intervals with memory for up to 32,760 readings
- User-defined high and low alarm limits
- Fluke Connect wireless link to smartphones and tablets
Typical applications
- Periodic inspection of building and plant grounding systems
- Utility pole, substation and telecom site ground checks
- Troubleshooting nuisance tripping caused by leakage current
- Lightning protection system verification
